After winning their two pre-season friendlies against Hellingly, Lewes took their impressive form into the first competitive matches of the season. Both of these were away against Crawley.

The first one was a cup game which Lewes dominated, finishing with a convincing 53-10 win. The following week, in their first league game of the season, Lewes kept up their good form with a 36-0 win which puts them, very nicely, at the top of the table .

Even more encouraging is that they have done this with a very young team, as so many promising young players are coming through from our junior section and making their mark at the senior level.

Our first home league match of the season is this coming Saturday (11th October) against Jersey Royals. To accommodate our visitors' travel arrangements, the kick off will be at 1.30, but do come along to the Stanley Turner to cheer on our exciting young side!

Even better on Saturday, we are holding a pre-match lunch to honour our valued sponsors. Club members are very welcome with the meeting times in the clubhouse being 11.30 for 12.00. The cost of the lunch is £15, payable over the bar. Do please let the secretary (secretary@lewesrugby.com) know if you are able to come so we can anticipate the numbers for our caterers.
